what I learned my first year of high school.

Yes.

I realize that I have already posted the lamest post ever a couple days ago but I feel as though I'm just uploading a couple pictures with little captions.  When I'm 45 years old (heaven forbid) I will seriously not really remember those funny thoughts I had as a sixteen year old. Okay so I guess I'll share somethings i've learned the past year.

Sophomore Year List of Stuff I learned:

1. You don't go to football games to watch football. You go to the football games to look at the cute football players and watch your cute friend be an adorable cheerleader. also flirting with boys sitting next to you in the bleachers is awesome too.

2. Physics is hard. It's really really hard and awful and bless Mr. Summerhays for giving so much extra credit or I would be just flat out failing.

3. Smart boys are cute boys. Something about an intelligent boy who can hold a good conversation is super attractive. boys I doubt you are reading this but YES.  Study. Know things. Talk to a girl about your passions (hopefully more than just football and other girls.) It is so refreshing.

4. Being mean doesn't help you in the long run.  I wasn't the nicest to some people this year. As I looked back at these conversations I realized that it really didn't help.  I just put all my emotions onto a poor girl who actually didn't deserve any of that. But that girl isn't in my life anymore so it isn't so bad.

5. Find something you love. I guess I kinda learned what I love.  I'm in the middle of my watercolor class thinking the whole time.
This is what I want to do for the rest of my life.
Never really felt like that so i'm taking AP Studio Art next year because I'm happiest when in my art class.

6. Having good handwriting is essential. I don't and let me tell you I think I would have gotten better grades if it wasn't so small and horrible.

7. Social Media is dumb and addicting. Twitter? please. stop.  Like do what you, want post what you like and inspires you but saying mean things on there. It is cowardly. Some days when you realize that you have spent hours just on your phone it is perfectly okay to delete your social media apps.  Is it kinda scary and painful but it is also refreshing. Also people can still be the coolest people you have ever met without having 600+ followers on instagram. In fact some of the coolest people I know just don't even use social media which is awesome.

8.  Boys aren't worth it. Live for yourself and your friends. If you like a boy fine. Don't go crazy and not hangout with your friends because of him.  Everything will go to heck and you'll regret it.  But also find cool guys to hang out with.  They are super fun, especially if you don't have a crush on any of them.

9. Wear what makes you feel pretty and good.  Yes. those Brandy Melville and Docs are cool but I'm more comfortable in black jeans with a hole in the knee and a strange sweater that can be used to make puns. ("hey jane are you crabby??"  "No, Mr. Felt, I just wore an outfit i like that happens to be a sweater with crabs on it and woke up early to attend your class")

10. STUDY. study for physics. study for history. study. study. study. yes you may study days before and still get a D+ but you'll be very proud of that D+.

11. Secrets aren't for sharing. Someone trusted you enough to tell you something.  I struggle with keeping secrets but I've been pretty good the past month.  Slowly I'm learning.  Make sure you have friendships that you trust completely.

12. EXTRA credit. Do it.  Just do it.  You will love yourself and your parents will love you.

13. people change. There I said it. People change and move on.  Some friendships you gain the first year of high school will last forever. Others will die when the semester changes and you're no longer in that class.  You begin to realize that you only actually relate to a couple of your friends and they are the only people you want to spend time with.  Don't be afraid to not hangout with thirteen plus people.  Having just one or two friends over is sometimes so much better.

14. MAKE PLANS BEFORE GETTING INTO CAR. seriously. This weekend was another testament of that to me.  Have a plan.  Make sure it is fun and takes a while and if you know it won't have a solid backup plan.  Aimlessly driving around isn't very fun.  Always have ideas of fun adventures in the back of your head. Find something cheap and fun.

15. Don't change yourself to fit in. Super cliche I know. But seriously. Just be yourself. I don't relate to everything that all my friends do.  For example they are all super into music. LIKE SUPER INTO MUSIC.  I just don't have that connection they do to it.  It just makes me sad all the time. But at first I tried to be all cool and play songs that I thought they would think was cool but I didn't even like. But I realized that it didn't matter. Maybe I really like weird sad indie songs and that is perfectly fine. Don't wear something you wouldn't wear. Don't pretend you know what they are talking about when you don't.  Learn grow and try new things but don't feel obligated to love something because others do.

16. You're gonna feel dumb doing it but crying is okay. So yeah that test didn't go too well. Okay so you are fighting with your best friend. Turning on lana del ray and crying for a good few minutes in your bed at 2 a.m.   Sometimes I forget that it's okay and I just need to remind myself to shed some tears.

17. Go on walks. Talk to people when you are upset. Don't procrastinate getting your license. Exercise. Jam on weekdays in your best friends car when you have too much homework to handle and its raining and you think everything is going to heck.  Stand up for your beliefs.  Stand up for those that can't.  Be honest. Write in your journal.  take as many creepy beautiful pictures of your friends in their "natural" state just laughing or talking or relaxing.  Dance like no one is watching. Especially your vice principal.  Take a step back and observe people. Try and figure out how to make yourself a less selfish person.  Put others before yourself just don't forget yourself completely.  Know that you are a fierce lioness that will someday take over the world. With that knowledge help others to know they are just as fierce and they can do anything.

I have so much more to learn but that's just a few things I've come to understand better this year.
Just daily views of our teenage adventures

OKAY THIS IS THE BEST THING AND I JUST WANT TO SCREAM IT OFF THE TOP OF MOUNTAINS AND REPEAT IT TO EVERY GIRL/PERSON WHO DOESN'T FEEL GOOD ABOUT THEIR APPEARANCE.

The End of the Year is almost here!

I was going through all the pictures that I've taken through out the school year.
We have accomplished lots!

Our school threw the wildest spontaneous dance.
Hanging out with friends on weekdays is actually one of the funnest things.

RUGBY GAMES IN THE POURING RAIN

Too many dog walks.
both alone with my dog and myself.
 but mostly with Maren.

My friends are way too cool for me

long long long nights studying, (mostly Maren studying, me talking)
in preparation for the big AP test.

May I just remind you that Maren and I did this when I had a fever and it was pouring rain

As you can see our shoes and rain aren't really working together

ED SHEERAN.

Oh my Hannah and Julia for their combined birthday party took us in a huge limo to Ed Sheeran.
We were literally 20 ft tops from him the whole time and We all hugged and cried and had an incredible time.  Thanks Girls FOr THE BEST NIGHT.

Idk.  This school year is quickly ending and it kinda scares me and my grades lol.
But we will be out of highschool in a few short years and then off into the world without each other and thats extremely frightening. But for now I just am trying to get through these last two weeks.

Great Salt Lake

I really really love adventures.
I also really dislike school.
Which is why spring break is one of the best times of the year.

MAtt and I decided to skip rocks during the sunset at the great salt lake.
We arranged it and 4 girls and 1 boy later we were taking pictures at salt lake and exploring.

We built a roaring fire. Roasted hotdogs, marshmallows. and starbursts.
Talked and danced on the Great Salt Lake.
